It's all for research?
Oct. 23rd, 2013 09:27 pm[It's a cycle. It's a hellish cycle that never ends. He'd been here before, loved it here before. But this trip was so much more than a vacation spot. This Luceti, trapped somewhere in the indefinite past of the Luceti he'd known before, has been a place of imprisonment and mistrust.
It's hard to tell where they are, or how long they've been there. He hasn't seen natural daylight since the scientists took him in for experimentation, though he occasionally glimpses his fellow X-men as they pass from surgery to surgery.
They're interested in mutant powers. It was that yearning for knowledge that prompted them to force Scott's powers to yo-yo, diminishing them until they were extinguished only to misjudge and send him into a nuclear meltdown.
He doesn't remember dying. He hopes it was peaceful while it lasted.
He'd been kept under tight surveillance since his return, regularly threatened to have his eyes removed if he tried to fight back properly.
But sometimes? Sometimes it was worth it.
There was a light show when he escaped this time, blasting off the wings of two Malnosso scientists who'd arrived to give him his daily checkup. One of them mentioned Jean in passing, was foolish enough to give away her location.
He'd find her. And then he'd get them all out of here.
His voice was long gone, but he reached out with his mind anyway as he sprinted closer to her.]
< Jean? It's me. I'm coming for you, so don't be afraid, all right? >
