And then a funeral

Luceti Valley was a modern sort of place. It had cars and the well to-do who jet-setted all day and danced all night. That was the way the Graysons explained it at least, as they jumped from being farm hands to a lounge act and back again. They worked long hours because people like them had to work hard if they wanted to support their family. But it would be worth it, they'd said.

They'd said a lot of things that didn't matter anymore because they weren't alive anymore. They were cold and stiff and laying in a box that was going to be dropped underground. And though they were surrounded by loved ones and family friends, the well-wishing didn't mean much. It wasn't going to bring back normalcy.

Dick stood around the parlor in an uncomfortable suit waiting for the other uncomfortable people to feel uncomfortable enough that they'd leave and let him take his brother back to their uncomfortably quiet house and figure things out.
